Brand Design + UX/UI Design

Chigude CBO is a grassroots development organization in Malawi that works in the vital areas of education, rights, health, and environment. I built a brand identity & website for the organization to improve their communications with potential donors & volunteers.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

As a relatively new organization, Chigude CBO was looking for a fresh brand identity to speak to their vibrancy, dynamism, and capacity to co-create a brighter future with their community. A website that could demonstrate and speak to their unique strengths was a crucial component of their communications strategy. As they develop their fundraising strategies, a cohesive website is vital to inform and inspire confidence in potential funders.

RESEARCH

Summary

I created personas, user journey maps, and conducted a competitive audit to assess how to best serve the needs of users.

Users needed clear avenues to find information about the organization, ways to volunteer, and streamlined, trustworthy methods of donating.

Pain Points

User Persona: Blair

‘As a busy young professional passionate about community development, I want to be able to donate to grassroots organizations digitally so that I can do my part to support organizations doing meaningful work.’

User Journey: Blair

Mapping Blair’s User Journey illuminated the importance of a clear, efficient, and completely digital donation process. A website that makes donation processes accessible from the very beginning, as well as provides ample information on the org’s work, could make donating a quick and easy way for users to support Chigude CBO.

☉ Problem Statement

Blair is a busy young professional passionate about grassroots community development who needs a streamlined way to donate to NGOs, because she wants to do her part to support organizations doing meaningful work, but doesn’t have the time to volunteer.

☞ Hypothesis Statement

If Blair can donate easily through the Chigude CBO website, then she can readily support them in a way that best suits her current situation, as she feels she is too busy to volunteer.

WHICH BRINGS US TO THE PRESENT →

We are currently conducting a usability study for the website to see what is supportive to users’ journeys and what could use work.

We are also in the process of choosing which donation program to use on the site, so that function is yet to be sorted.

As a communications team, we will be working closely with Chigude to build out the site copy to embody Chigude’s dynamic, inviting, and strong ethos.
